Thursday Notes

Hello Maury Men,

For those who attend Farm Fellowship there is NO gathering tomorrow due to Parish’s annual 4th of July Picnic.

Also, all future men’s discipleship groups will be a combined group at Keith Cannon’s home on the first Thursday of the month. Plan to meet at the barn.

Thursday Men’s Gathering Notes

This past Thursday we had a wonderful time of fellowship. Thank you to the Cannon family for the burgers and to Tim Simmons for his work in preparing the meal! We filled Hawk’s home in one of our best attended meetings of the year. Here are a few notes.

  • A representative from Care Portal came out to talk through some of the expectations of the program. Josh Scheenstra is our current point of contact and will be sending out needs to all who sign up. Please contact him at [email protected] to get your name on the list.

  • Joel Dokkestul came to speak about his ministry in the Middle East. The region continues to be war torn and ethnically and religiously divided. Joel asked that we pray for the following:

    • The men and women being persecuted

    • The efforts of missionaries and pastors to train local pastors for the growing church.

    • For the beginnings and efforts of a seminary.

    • For the spread of the Bible in the local language.

    • For the schools that are growing in the tent cities of the refugees.
